When I first came to see Dr. Boccella, I had severe headaches involving my entire head as well as severe face, neck and jaw pain. I would have muscle spasms, which would start on the left and move to the right pulling down the left side of my face and neck. These spasms were extremely painful, almost intolerable at times. They would cause my saliva to stop flowing and would affect my eyes by blurring my vision. Additionally, I would have spasms in my lower intestines, which cause a prolapsed bladder and subsequent rectal problems. At least two doctors advised me to have surgery. Basically, my whole body would cease to function.
I have been dealing with this excruciating pain since August of 1999. During that period of time I had consulted with a total of six neurologists, two ear specialists, and numerous other medical specialists. Dr. David Cook, one of the neurologists I consulted, did help me with my pain, but I couldn't tolerate the medication.
I wasn't sleeping well due to the severe pain. Nothing could ease it or control it. I tried Botex injections and acupuncture as well. All of this led to a lack of concentration, no energy, extremely weak knees, and a fullness in my head which caused tremendous pressure. I couldn't tolerate noises from lawnmowers, cars, and even people talking so I was limited to what I could do and where I could go. I had to be very selective as to where I went and how often.
It was at this point that Dr. Cook suggested I try chiropractic care. And, thankfully, this led me to Dr. John Boccella. After only a couple of months of chiropractic care, I am stronger. I can walk more, think and concentrate more effectively, and my pain level has gone from a 10 to a 3-5. My ears don't amplify noises as much as before so I can now tolerate some sounds. I can do most of my daily tasks if I go slowly and do a little at a time. My prolapsed bladder and rectal problems no longer bother me. Most importantly, I DID NOT NEED SURGERY !!!!!!!!
Thanks to the wisdom and patience of Dr. Boccella I feel like a renewed person. He has been a blessing to me, so kind and sensitive to my condition. the entire staff at Atlas Chiropractic is wonderful. I thank God daily for Dr. Boccella and his staff. I also thank Dr. David Cook for believing in Dr. Boccella.
I am not completely where I would like to be, but I thank God for giving me the abilities I have regained through Dr. Boccella's wonderful chiropractic care.
